is now accepting submissions!
Click here to apply by February 1.

In 2025, we selected two winners for the Paper Rocket Publishing Prize: Kruttika Susarla for Alexander’s Curse and Paterson Hodgson for I‘m Outraged! And Also Sad!

What is the Paper Rocket Publishing Prize?
The Paper Rocket Publishing Prize is a contest, first awarded in 2025. Winners receive $500, a minicomic publishing deal with Paper Rocket, and the opportunity to table with Paper Rocket at MoCCA Fest 2026.

What are you looking for?
A comic in English between 24 and 90 pages, preferably unpublished.

If I win, do I have to attend MoCCA Fest?
No, but since shared table space is part of the prize, a preference is given to those who want to table at MoCCA Fest in 2026 and don’t have a table of their own. (Tabling with Paper Rocket at SPX 2026 is also an option.)

What is a “minicomic publishing deal”?
This means Paper Rocket can print, publish, and sell your comic as a minicomic. You will receive a large number of free copies of your minicomic (between 25 and 50, depending on the length/cost of your book) and the option to purchase additional copies at 50% off the cover price. You can sell these copies. Of course, your work remains your intellectual property. All the details of the publishing deal will be covered in a contract.

Do I need to live in the USA to win?
No, but note the award is in US dollars.
